David is an experienced and creative lighting cameraman, bringing over 20 years’ professional expertise to shooting Factual Reconstructions, Ob Docs & Current Affairs.

David can provide two or three man crews with extensive kit.

Alternatively he is happy working single camera/sound, handheld using available light and directing where necessary.

David is based in Cumbria and North Wales allowing easy access to the Lake District, Scotland, Manchester & Liverpool.

Living in Cumbria has meant being involved in many films in and around the Lake District, filming Its people and culture. He has also been fortunate to work throughout the world in diverse environments with differing requirements.

Such as:

Filming in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans looking for sunken treasure fighting storms or excessive heat.

Filming in Jerusalem underneath the wailing wall or walking through waste deep water filled tunnels with hand held flares.

Lighting and filming 30ft x 20ft chromakey sets for CGI, utilising tilting sets or tanked sets for rain machines.

David has filmed many films all over the world, He was nominated for an Emmy in lighting 2009; Won best Documentary at the Manchester International Film Awards 2017; Won best Dance experimental film London City Film Awards 2017.

David’s a DoP/Camera operator, working for the likes of History, Discovery, BBC, Chl 4, and National Geographic throughout the UK & Europe, most of his work has been through independent film makers.

He has a wealth of experience from a wide range of broadcasting genres.
